Ethernet Speeds Capped on Acer Predator Helios 300 2019
Hello,
I just received a new Acer Predator Helios 300 2019 (PH315-52-78VL) from Amazon. So far I have LOVED this laptop. It is a huge leap forward compared to my ancient 17.3" MSI GT70 from 2012. However, I seem to be having some issues with the Ethernet. I noticed I'm only getting up to 100 Mbps speeds with my new laptop. I know it is not the cable or internet connection because my old laptop, using Ethernet, gets speeds up to 700 Mbps.
Looking in Device Manager at 'Advanced' tab for the 'Killer E2500 Gigabit Ethernet Controller,' I see that for 'Speed & Duplex,' it is set to 'Auto Negotiation.' The max value options are '100 Mbps Full Duplex' and '100 Mbps Half Duplex,' which are 1/10 of the claimed gigabit speeds. Does anyone know why this is happening? I really want to like this laptop but I do big data transfers over Ethernet all the time, so this is a deal breaker.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Exper1mental
