To be honest, I also very close to return it.
    1) First question, is a must, for idle. Why Triton-500 can stop them on idle? Why previous gen Helios-300 can stop it? Why in Helios-700 they can even set custom profile with 1000 rpm on each fan? Running fans always in 2000-2500 is very loud, really, it has nothing to gaming laptop.
    2) This is desirable. Turbo mode is very loud, I want to lower max fans. See this review for compare Helios with Y540
    https://youtu.be/pyggQzZmM4I
Lenovo has similar performance but way less noisy, 49db vs 58db in Helios.
    3) I can’t find any third-party software to control or at least monitor fan rpms. Even aida64 can’t see it at all.
    4) Last hope. Since I think Acer don’t care about our requests at all and will NEVER fix it.
If I visit personally service center, will they be able to unlock bios and tweak settings?
I found following pictures of unlocked bios of another model

I think it is in Thermal configuration, can they tweak settings there for me?
belik unlocking bios its very risky and i dont advise it to anyone but everyone its free to do whatever they feel like  only acer devs/engineers have access to those settings unless you unlock it yourself at your own risk of bricking and not even allowed to discuss about any kind of bios unlocking in this community and as i stated earlier my fans are always on 2400/2500 on idle and i cant even hear them also i know in fact from someone who had a H300 with an unlocked bios those settings wont do any good he could only tweak the voltages a bit and ram nothing major and no one will unlock you bios officially as i said it has to be done by the user at their own risk of bricking everything and frying the mobo and regarding your statement <<4) Last hope. Since I think Acer don’t care about our requests at all and will NEVER fix it.>> probably not because theres nothing broken to fix and i suspect probably the fan rpm settings are same for all predator/nitro models as far as im aware (excluding the triton 500 im not familiar with it but i can find out from some owner)

I too would like to be able to set a custom fan curve for the 2019 Acer PH315-52-78VL and turn the fans off at idle or with temps below 40 C.

I have the 2017 Predator Helios 300 and the fans turn off at idle. My 2018 HP Pavilion gaming laptop also turn the fans off at idle.

I am having the same issue with a 2019 Helios 300 with the 1660ti GPU. With the dGPU off (confirmed via predator tool[can't monitor temp because it is off] and nvidia control panel) the fans are at:
    CPU: ~1650
    dGPU: ~2500

It would be nice if the fan was fully off or at least the same level as the CPU when the dGPU is 100% off. Considering returning mine for the same reason. I should not be hearing fans when the system is 100% idle and the thermals are so low. (37c cpu and dGPU likely near ambient since it is turned off.). As-is, the cooling is too aggressive at low temperatures/load.

The lack of control in the tool to set fan speed is a bit annoying. The manual control (set to fully low) appears to do nothing, the fans operate about the same as if it was set to Auto. Anybody have a contact/email with Acer engineering? (doubt it, but figure it is worth a shot asking...)

blah2412 unfortunately contact with acer dev team (or any other direct contact) cannot be done directly you would have to go through the support and ask them to pass it on to the development team and theres always the option to contact the acer staff that manages the community by pm and leave your idea to be passed on

Recently in August it were released new bios version 1.06 and PS software and I thought that probably they fixed our issue but no. Nothing changed and fans still can’t go below 1680/2160 cpu/gpu.

Yes I'm talking about latest bios ver. 1.06 from 2019/08/19 and Predator Sense ver. 3.00.3130 from 2019/08/23
It is the same behavior as previously, no one took care about fans issue
But what I tried more is I put laptop under air conditioning and enabled best battery life on Win 1903. I managed to get following temperatures for 30 minutes

and it makes the fans run as following

This is sustained regime for about 30 minutes already and I am typing this text during it. And I have to say that while 2040 is still noisy another one cpu with 960 rpm is just aawesome. I can't really hear it at all even with ear near the vent grill. This is the true mode everyone would love to have. Fan is capable to run on such low speed and it can make cpu temp to be around 45-50C in normal condition.

As for gpu/system it is different story as it is custom aeroblade fan with unknwon specs, probably I should replace it with normal plastic Delta NS85C06 lol (the same as on cpu)

Same problem here, GPU fan running at 2160 rpm in idl mode, CPU and GPU below 40 degree. This absolutelty needs to be fixed in the next bios release, it's an annyoing and unacceptable bug.

I mean that delta fan has lower rpm itself.
And I assume they are controlled by pwm.
    On max speed,
    AeroBlade - 6200 rpm - 100% pwm
    Delta - 5700 rpm - 100% pwm
    On idle,
    Aeroblade - 2160 rpm - 35%
So having second delta instead of it would make 1990 rpm on 35%
Well still to high)) there is need some fan here with max rpm about 5000, then it would be 1750 on idle which much better

1680 rpm on cpu and 2160 rpm on cpu/gpu and not less, this is minimum in real idle mode

i made a topic about this problem: the fan of this laptop can't be 00 rpm
     https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/574033/helios-300-ph317-53-72p5-rtx-2060-fan-stopping#latest
    hope acer see our request
the problem is not the pc is loud, the problem is the fans never stop

I would clarify, the problem that fans rpm are too high on idle.
they run at 1680/2160 cpu/gpu and keep temp 33/33 on idle while normal users would like to have rpm 1000/1000 and temp 45/45 (well or 55/55 with the fans all stopped)
fans itself can run at 1000 with no problem it is just software doesn’t allow it. And honestly I think Acer will never fix it)
