I really am not lying, i have no flicker in games or this photo.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMx9VS6w-e0

Only just uploaded so you might need to wait a few minutes for it to render in higher resolutions. This is the best monitor i have ever had, yeah there is a some slight black smear but that is a VA issue and everyone should of known that.
you are not moving the image on the screen. open the link in a window, and move it around.
you can also try this tests and see if you have scanlines:
    http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk1.html
    http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk2.html
    http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk3.html

what you talking about i don't move it hahaha? At 15 seconds i move it in a window. Watch it again
I can see flickering in both gears 5 vid and the mountains img... How do you not see it ?

There are different walls in gears 5 and the flicker intensity is different on each of them, but I do so the wall flicker too. its just too fast because ur moving your camera way too fast. same with the mountain image you move it too fast so flicker is not that obvious but I can still see. So sorry to break it but your monitor is not perfect..

I have also tested many of these games on my LG 27GL850 and none of them are present and I never had flickering on the PG27UQ.
Now you're straight up lying. There is no flicker on either video. Stop being salty that there are good monitors out of these without issues, its making you look rather silly.

i am wondering what is @Acer-Manny doing in the meanwhile... the silence from the Acer crew is very fishy to say the least. same goes for Asus and nVIDIA...
They could at least let ppl know what if the problem is fixable or not in the future!

Hey guys, I just got this screen today and is awaiting delivery. I found this thread after...
Can you give me the simplest repro, please? (which does not involve buy a specific game or such like Gears 5)
All settings I should have etc. I will make sure to share a video.

Set the refresh rate above 120Hz.
Open the below link and make image big enough then drag the browser left and right
    http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk2.html

You shall see below vertical pixel inversion.

Then, take a deep breath, chill it out. ;)

    @Lyker
then, enable overdrive (on normal) and drag this photo in a window across the screen:
    https://pcmonitors.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/snowy-village.jpg
If it flickers and shows scan lines, exhale and send it back where it came from.

Pixel inversion is a known issue and discussed topic. Down here it is flashing because of that 3000$ price tag.
But no cash can buy out LCD barricade unless they invented a new panel, like LG?
And general rules of support is to fall silent about known issue/bug and never over-promise anything. I was surprised Acer said Nvidia will deliver a drive fix. Overpromise usually made a big mistake.

OK, thanks all I will be sure to check it out.
P.S http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk2.html made my current screen go bunkers also. Not any lines, but disco flickering even outside the browser windows with the image.

Isn't it strange my 240Hz TN panel has the same scanlines...
I did watch those also on an IPS display and mine ,,flickered" as well... I think this is not a good test to showcase the problem.

Going through multiple threads, I find out what happened is like this:

    The monitor has two problems:

    1. Ghosting: https://www.blurbusters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Acer_XB252Q_Animated.png

    2. Interlace pattern artifacts: https://i.imgur.com/EVo89lS.jpg

People bought this monitor and got these problems. Then they posted it on every forum possible and called these problems "flickering". They are shocked that 200Hz 2m VA panel has ghosting and Interlace pattern artifacts.

Acer pushes the responsibility to Nvidia for driver updates. Nvidia didn't fix anything. ASUS's connection knows the exact problems and knows it might not be fixed due to the VA panel's limitation.

    Cheers everyone.

What surprises me most is some cry babies always yell.

It is like you bought the fastest exotic car on the market and yell to everyone "Hey! My Buggati's inventory space is too small!"

Show some attitude and buy yourself another SUV, please?

If you don't like it, return it. No need to force others to be the victims.

It is life. Enjoy the moment.

I like my X35, it is VA panel, it flickers. Then what? I got the 200Hz and HDR. The fastest 21:9 monitor in this world. If there is another one, a better one next year, hopefully, IPS. By that time I will still buy it.

    [sigh in Italian]

i tend to believe this review is legit:
    https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/acer-x35/
scroll down about 1/2 to find the exact part where is refering to this issue.

So what you are saying is that's it's really not anything wrong with the specific model but rather a "maturaty issues" for the tech used?

Yeah, my monitor had the same issue. And even IPS X27 can have the same artifacts with testing below. @SilentMarket

But then what? After going all the way from TN, IPS, OLED and VA, I let it chill as long as I'm rocking 200fps on it.

Yeah, the issue is always right there.
We are the customers after all. We paid considerable cash and can always demand a lot of things.
But by the time the issue is fixed, new generation of monitor is already on the surface.
And we didn't enjoy what we already have, what is the point in that?

The high refresh rate monitor is expected to behave like this. The pixel inversions cover area is larger. So that is why you see flickering outside the browser.

I doubt it will be fixed.
Pixel inversion is a result of reducing LCD image persistence.  The way of reducing persistence is by using voltage switching.
Same as the former monitor, X35 didn't use a new method to reduce image persistence. So all the inversions we observed are expected.

To completely fix this issue, somebody needs to improve the switching algorithm or introduce a new panel technology.
Same as before, when that happens, you will probably hear a new fancy name about it.

Nop not happening to me i am at 144hz and fast  OD on my LG IPS monitor. Your X27 could be faulty... you are also using a image that is prolly supposed to cause the effect..

    ?   B)
I didn't remember to mention your LG doesn't flick. I just pointed out your claim PG27UQ doesn't flick.

On the other hand, we tend to use a professional picture made for testing pixel inversion. Then you deny using it for testing but in favor of a random picture that is... less intense?

From an old topic, PG27UQ and X27 owners can see the artifacts as well. Are the 27' 4K IPS all faulty by your standard?
