I've finally figured out whats been causing me fps drops and it's been a setting in my computers bios from what I've read. I wish to disable a power management setting thats making my cpu speed drop. But I do not have any of the advanced options. Can someone give me a step by step, how to acsess my computers advanced bios settings?

  • What is the exact model of your notebook? Example an515-51-75kz. Regarding the change in bios, please be aware that no unlocking method is allowed here in the community. Also, I believe what is happening is that your notebook is also using battery power even when it is connected to the power adapter. If so, it's perfectly normal on today's notebooks.
Have you tried putting the battery in high performance mode too? Have you disabled batteryboost in nvidia options?

My laptop is a acer predator helios 300, g3-572. I changed every power management setting in my laptop, and it still throttles my cpu and lowers the speed for a few seconds. This is a huge problem because I mainly play shooter games, and it's very inconvienient that my fps drops significantly for a few seconds. From what I've heard, it's a power management setting in bios that makes my cpu speed drop for a few seconds to reduce power consumption then come back to normal. I am not worried about heat because I've undervolted and bought a cooling pad. And yes, I've done both of those.
