Acer Predator Helios 300 heat problems

Hi everyone. I have recently bought Helios 300 laptop (i7, GTX 1060, 16GB RAM) and first real "demanding" game which I have tried is Witcher 3. I have no performance issues whatsoever, but ~5 minutes after I start playing I get heat problems, keyboard and metal frame become uncomfortably hot and cooler makes noises loud enough to hear through headphones. I use MSI afterburner to monitor GPU temperature, which is 75C at max during gaming, and Intel XTU for CPU monitoring, where again max CPU temperature was 75C. I have read that this is normal for laptops, but the cooler sound and uncomfortable temperatures make me feel uneasy, I dont want to cause any long term damage to my components. Should I try downvolting the CPU?

Edit: I have seen other posts regarding this issue, thats where I saw downvolting as a possible solution, but laptop handled stress tests successfuly (with temperatures below 60 even) so I thought that might have not been the issue. Also, I have not modified hardware in any way (no overclocking etc.)

This guy's settings for GPU undervolting is old, both the msi afterburner version and the settings.

Is there an updated video with the new values available?

Wolver1ne that <<guy>> as u stated its @Red-Sand and the settings arent old why do u say the settings are old those are the settings to use i dont see what is your doubt here if you have/know better settings than those i suggest you to use them and again i cant understand you statement that its old as why after all you gpu its also old

I have seen those tutorials, but should I actually undervolt? Or the noisy fan and "warm" keyboard is normal. From what I have read 70-75C temperatures are normal when gaming. I am also considering getting a cooling pad

ach113 If you have 70/75 you are ok nothing to worry about at all and the noisy fans/warm keyboard are normal as the heat pipes are right under the keyboard where it get hot its a gaming laptop it was made to be noisy not silent anyone should only start to worry if they have temps over 85+

Just did a more extensive testing (played Witcher 3 for more than 5 minutes) and CPU reached max temperature of 98C

while GPU was around 80. I have fans set to Auto mode with CoolBoost enabled. Not sure if this adds to anything but I noticed that couple of minutes through stress tests (XTU) It shows that I am getting Power Limit Throttling (not really sure what that is or if I should be concerned)

ach113 follow the links in my signature to optimize windows/undervolt and if still needed after to repaste it with kryonaut or similar you are thermal throttling are using the correct settings fans on auto with coolboost one i never use fans on max only auto and i get a max of 65/75 gpu 70/80 cpu all games on ultra but i had done all the procedures i mentioned above and also upgraded ssd to 2tb and ram to 32gb hyperx 2666

I tried undervolting the CPU (reduced voltage offset to -0.125V), it helped quite a bit, CPU temperatures are still above 80 (even hitting 90 mark at times) but its not as high as earlier. I will try other solutions from your video as well. Also is it not recommended to use fans at max setting? (only during gaming of course)

Thats correct and if you still have high temps after optimizing/undervolting that means you only solution its to repaste it(or get it repasted if still or warranty and has warranty seals)

Looks like my answer was too late.
Hope it will still be useful to a few others.
The reason here lies in the Power Plan. If you set Power Plan to High Performance, the System temperature will always be 80 degrees Celsius or higher.
If you choose Power Plan as Acer (which is already provided), the System temperature will be about 50~70 degrees Celsius.
