Droptank Yes it you can upgrade it up to 2tb and clone the OS you have in your existing 1tb hdd into your new m.2 ssd drive using for ex easeus partiton master or similar and use your existing hdd for storage only there are many variants of your model and yours unfortunately only brings a normal hdd probably because its cheaper that the ssd variant on stock but as i said you can upgrade whenever you feels like to the slot its there all motherboards are the same if in your case you have intel optane + normal hdd remove the optane and replace it with the ssd if you dont have optane just insert a new ssd as i dunno what exact specs you have due to the many variants

    Storage Subsystem
    • SATA HDD
     Storage 1 : M.2 2280 for SSD (PCIe/SATA Co-lay); design reserve for Intel Optane
     Storage 2 : 9.5mm/7mm co-lay (Support HDD Door)

Thanks. I recently made the mistake, mostly due to the lack of info about my system on acer's part, of buying a 2.5 inch ssd to transfer my boot drive to. I then found out when i opened the door that it was filled with the hdd. I then became worried that not all of the motherboards had a slot for an m.2.
