Recently purchased a 2019 Helios 300 (PH315-52) and plan on replacing the paltry 256GB drive with a larger, faster drive. I'd also like to have the factory undervolt when I install the new HD.

So my question is, how is the factory undervolt done on this laptop? Is it through PredatorSense software?

Thanks in advance

ASpaceman you can just clone your existing drive into the new one using easeus partitions master and your good to go everything stays as it is now and regarding the stock undervolt everitime you would need to go for a fresh install it would be automatically setup i suspect that the undervolt come pre set in the bios advanced settings (which no one has access but acer engineers) and PS its just basically a UI for those bios settings to control them and apply them anyway hope this helps and another advice is to never format your original os ssd/hdd when you replace it always keep it safe in case of an emergency even if its an m.2 u can use it to boot from an usb enclosure/adapter and mine only came with a 128gb i replaced with a 2tb

So I replaced the 256gb with a new Nvme drive and can confirm the factory underclock on the cpu is done either through bios or the intel chipset. The only way to change the underclock is through 3rd party apps, eg. XTU, Throttlestop etc.

@ASpaceman  Its done directly in the bios in the hidden advanced tab with all features only accessible to engineers with unlocked bios and its not underclock its undervolt, underclock its to reduce the cpu clocks by disabling the turbo for ex setting the processor state to 99% (dont recommend anyone to kill the beasts performance) undervolting its to reduce the cpu/gpu voltage to use less power so heating up less and keeping same performances  and i dont recommend XTU i always recommend TS to stick the undervolting setting properly but theres no need to tweak these new beasts anymore they are pre set with the most stable undervolt values i would leave it a it is

nonsense021 As far as i know -125mv and theres no need to tweak it more it was tested at the stabe settings but you can if you would want to not guaranteed that it would still be stable

I see. Is that for both CPU and GPU?

CPU and IGPU only for the DGPU if you still want to undervolt it (i dont see the nedd to) you have to use msi AB curve to do so

Thank you! I don't intend to undervolt further as I found the stock settings to be fine. Really impressed with this machine. Just wanted to know since I mistakenly restored to default settings without undervolt.

The Undervolt is done through Predator Sense software. Just install Predator Sense and the Under-Volt should be back. I have reinstalled Windows like about twice and PS installation restores the under-volt.

No, the undervolt is done through bios. I reinstalled windows without installing predator sense and confirmed the undervolt at -0.125mv through inte's XTU software. Predator sense just controls the fan speed for the cpu/gpu and allows that predator sense button to work.
