I have an Acer Aspire 7540 and it won't boot up. The power works but when I push it to turn on, it makes a noise then stops. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

    Hi @sneakywes ,
Try doing power drain, by inserting paper clip on the battery reset hole, press and hold it for about 30secs.
Try doing bios default, on the unit. follow the below steps:
    1. Restart your computer. ...
    2. Wait for the computer's first startup screen to appear. ...
    3. Repeatedly tap Del or F2 to enter setup. ...
    4. Wait for your BIOS to load. ...
    5. Find the "Setup Defaults" option. ...
    6. Select the "Load Setup Defaults" option and press ↵ Enter .
    7. check whether the unit is booting up.
Hit Accept if its useful :)

Where would the reset hole be for this version?

Search at the backside of the panel, tiny pin hole with battery symbol near by.

@Du_little I've checked multiple times for the pin hole but it seems like this model doesn't have it. Also, I replaced the ram and the screen still blank, wondering if it's the battery under the keyboard that I need to replace.
