    I am having the exact same problem, same 17" system. Is there no update at all? What am I supposed to do with this thing? And has anyone tried using the oldest NVIDIA drivers they could find?

    I'm having the same problem with the same model. Had the laptop for about 8 months now; problems started maybe 4 months ago with infrequent BSODs, but seems to be getting more frequent with hard resets now (no BSOD). I can find bugcheck 0x124 errors in the logs, suggesting maybe hardware issues. Any ideas what cheap part is failing?

    @McWinningSertorius LightisKira Fullauto1911 if any of the advised solutions in this thread worked my best advice its to contact acer support directly in order to send it back to get it diagnosed assuming the warranty its still valid  also anyone having bsods check whats causing it with bluescreen viewer and watch out for windows updates they create more issues than they solve do not let windows update drivers/firmware only update whatever u need and when needed manually good luck :)

    Rip it seems like this issue plaguing many others as well. Same exact thing been happening with me, making me really regret getting the helios even through all its praise.

    Did you guys look into the windows event viewer to check for any issues windows may have logged?

    Following up on my status.

    I submitted a warranty repair case to Acer. Initially, the website instructed me to send my laptop to them at my own expense. I called them to confirm the process before shipping and the gentleman provided a second email with paid shipping instructions. Their phone service was exceptionally fast and easy. They had my laptop just over two weeks and then returned it with a repair notice that they replaced the main board (assuming this is the proper terminology for the motherboard) and then ran it through all diagnostic tests with no issues. I've only had it back for a couple days now, but it seems to be fixed. I hope this experience maybe helps others having the same problem.

  • As the main board or motherboard has been replaced, I suggest you check that the model name is correct in the bios and here:

    For some reason, technicians tend to miss the model name, preventing the predator sense from being installed.

    Thanks for the advice; I just checked and it is still a match.
