Hi ive had my acer laptop for a month and a half and noticed my laptop is getting really hot while playing some games such as rainbow 6 and pubg ive tried setting the max battery dow to 99 but i lose around 50-60 fps from that and in situational FPS games those frames can be crucial. ive tried @Red-Sand optimization and that brought down the usage by a bit but didnt help my temps ive also tried throttlestop at -140 and still didnt bring my temps down ive also tried Intel XTU that didnt lower my temps either ive used throttlestop, intel xtu and predator sense to see what my temps are and all of them have said my max is 98c and i usaully hover in the mid 90s can someone pls help me

Sans optimize windows/undervolt and if still needed repaste thats the solution for your problem as you stated you had already optimized it and undervolted it bare in mind that using xtu and TS at the same time will not work you have to completely remove xtu reboot and install TS i would recommend u to use TS only i would try it again and if youre still having hight temps after this repasting (with kryonaut or similar) and cleaning the fans and airflow exit its the only way to go, and no your temps are not normal everything over 85 its not good for gaming at all its on the throttling limit after 90 it throttles or sometimes even less depending on the silicone lottery thats why you loose fps its when it throttles.

Good temps are cpu 75/80 (85 max) gpu 70/75 (of course the 1060's will heat up a bit more so may be at the same level of the cpu because they share the same heatpipes in all the 2017/2018 variants but its still acceptable

@xapim thank for the answer but I don’t ya TS and XTU at the same time. I first tried TS and followed @Red-Sand ‘s guide and found that it brought my temps down by 1 or 2 degrees but I was still occasionally getting 98c and would hang at 93-94 instead of 94-96 I’m sending my predator laptop to the Acer repair warehouse near me. I’m just worried that even sending it won’t work. I’ll probably leave a note for the technician asking them to repaste and update my BIOS. I just rly wanted a way to fix it from home without taking it apart :(

Sans if you are going to sent it  (probably the best option here as undervolting it not working ) ask them if they could use the thermal paste that you would provide if they say yes get some kryonaut and get them to repaste it with it and also clean the fans while theyre on it :) and dont forget to backup everything you need first as they might also reset it to factory and you will loose all your data
