Expandable ram issues in aspire 3 A315-53G-5968

I purchased an Acer aspire 3 A315-53G-5968 which has one non removable ram of 4gb and an additional slot. I want to know the ram can be increased upto what limit? If I put in a 16gb ram, will it work in harmony with the 4 GB non removable one since I've heard it's better to have two ram sticks with the same memory. Also could you tell me the clock speeds of the additional ram that I should buy? Is it 2400 MHz? Any other things I need to look into before I purchase it? Will there be any performance issues or will the performance be upto the mark?

It will work fine with up to 16GB DDR4 module at just about any speed available. 2400GHz, 2600GHz, 2133GHz or 1866GHz. Max = 4GB+16GB = 20GB Jack E/NJ

Yes, you can put two 8GB sticks of RAM in it. I am running 16GBs in my Acer Aspire. I wish it could handle more than 16GB, but that is the max. That should give me enough room to keep it for a few years.

    Hi @Manalitrans

this is your current stock setting of laptop
Dual channel ram are clocked at 2400mhz  at timing 17-17-17-39 lowest ram settings
slot 1 integrated 4gb ram goes upto max speed 2400 mhz @ timing 17-18 Micron Technology Inc.

You can go for 16gb sodimm 2400mhz class 17 ram. This will be perfect for you.

    Hi @VinuVPMV,

I have also A315-53G with 1x4GB DDR4-2133 RAM. How do you set the ram to go up to 2400mhz - 17?
