AN515-42-R5GT - Acer Logo Flashes, White Square, Then Orange Screen, Then Nothing Upon Start Up
Hi everyone.
I have a AN515-42-R5GT Nitro Laptop. Everything was working fine until this morning (of course, a Holiday in the U.S.). It was put on sleep mode last night. We went to wake it up today, and the screen started flashing.
We did a hard power down then turned it back on. First the Acer logo splash screen comes up, I see a little circle at the bottom like it's loading. Then the screen turns black, a white square (like the outline of a Window) flashes, then I see an orange background with what appears to be the same font as what you would see when Windows is updating, then a black screen, then back to Acer logo again.
I've tried the reset button on the back, waiting a few minutes, then turning it back on, nothing changes. Then I tried pressing the F2 key so that it takes you to BIOS page. I could get there.
Then I tried pressing F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. The unit restarted and went back to the same screen flashing-thing as before.
I could get back to the InsydeH20 Setup Utility but I'm not sure if I can factory reset from here -- that's the only thing I can think of that's left to try.
Is there anyone that can help? It's my son's computer and he's devastated right now, thinking it's permanently broken.
