Clean Win 10 install on Aspire V3-771g?

I had a hard drive fail on my laptop and am trying to install Windows 10 on a new drive. The windows setup says it can't install on the fresh partitions I created within the Windows installer. I deleted all the previous partitions on the drive and created new ones from within the Windows installer,  but Windows says it can't install to any of the formatted partitions. Is this a bios issue? Are there drivers I need to do the install. I'm pretty tech savvy but this laptop is not giving me any progress. I was able to install Fedora 30 Linux without issue.

If your V3-771g originally came pre-installed with windows 8 or windows 8.1, the instructions in the link below will work.

If your V3-771g originally came pre-installed with windows 7, then I'd have to give you slightly different instructions.  I don't know what operating system originally came pre-installed on your computer (or what BIOS version you currently have).

Thanks JordanB but that didn't change anything. When I would expect to get the list of drives to do the install from the Win 10 setup, I get the same message stating "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK"  I am using a non 3.0 USB port for the USB stick. I'll try burning a CD installer...

I burned a DVD install disc and switched to Legacy BIOS Mode and got an install to finally happen. Still not sure how to get a USB install up and running.

I think it had Win 8 on it but not sure if it was 8 or 8.1. It was upgraded to Win 10 when the free upgrades were happening.

The instructions that I gave in the link below will work on most Windows 8, Windows 8.1  and Windows 10 computers for UEFI/EFI mode installation.  The instructions that I gave won't work in legacy mode.

I noticed that your V3-771g never received any Windows 10 drivers from Acer.   My guess is that you have the broadcom wireless module and that is the driver/hardware that it causing you problems.  A quick fix might be to replace your broadcom wireless module with something else e.g. intel or atheros.

    I don't recommend legacy mode.

You could always just use free Windows 8.1

You could also try installing vanilla Windows 8.1 using these instructions, and then get the drivers from here, and then go to Windows 10 site and use the update assistant.

The instructions in link below were written so that you can get your UEFI and HDD back in to UEFI/EFI/GPT mode (default---how it was shipped)

If you still have problems, you can just use vanilla Windows 8.1 or order Windows 8 recovery media from Acer.

Not every Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 laptop is fully compatible with Windows 10 1903
