I cannot seem to find the CMOS jumper anywhere on this model or much information at all about it much less a service manual.

Something went terribly wrong with a Linux install and it’s completely fixable except that I cannot use my original supervisor password to do so as my bios seems to have reverted to a version that will not allow the use of special characters, though I’m not sure if this is the case.

Using the shift key does nothing, which works for my regular user password, but when used in attempt to input a special character it text input simply will not appear. I’ve tried nearly everything I can think of at this point and am trying to avoid removing my cpu as I don’t have heat dope but I’m really at a loss now. 

Any help/advice would be most welcome! Thanks in advance.

    Good afternoon Crustbukit !

    The service manual is not available to the end user.
    Have you performed a bios update?
    If your Bios is password protected, only Acer has the necessary hardware and software to remove this password.
    By the rules of the forum, it is not allowed to share any method of access, modification of Bios or passwords of any species.

    Thanks for the reply!
    That is understandable, in that case I already have the update file, how can I update the bios without access to the operating system? Steps please?

    Bios updates provided by Acer only work via OS and no longer via USB.
