Opening and closing the lid puts a lot of stress on the hinges and the video ribbon cables that run thru the congested hinge area. It helps to gently and slowly close the lid with both hands to avoid more stress being placed on one hinge assembly than the other. Also try to avoid opening and closing the lid too much like every time you step away from the machine for a few moments. It's mcuh better to use the off button the put the laptop and its screen into sleep mode than habitually closing and then opening the lid. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the advice but i still got a problem.Sometimes i hear a cracking/popping noise coming from the laptop and i think the screen in particular. Its really been bothering me lately cause it mostly happens when i am not even using the laptop.I really don't know whats causing this issue.

What do you mean by this? Is it making these noises when it's not even turned on? Jack E/NJ

Yeah thats exacly what i mean. When is turned off or in sleep mode after a while i start to hear these crackling/popping sounds coming from the laptop and the screen in particular. I've read  online that it's a normal thing for monitors to do that cause they are adapting to room temperature and the plastic is shrinking again.I need to know if this is a serious problem.

After listening for a bit i can safely say that the same problem happens even when the laptop is turned on and i think its coming from the hinges or something.

I suspect some short circuit with the motherboard or somewhere else probably if it was me i would send it for warranty to be checked because it might be something more serious and probably fail over time but its just my opinion anyway because those sounds are not normal at all if you arent even touching it

Do you have someone else who could listen to where the sounds are coming from? Jack E/NJ

Because you said you weren't 100% sure if laptop makes these sounds. So it would be good if someone else could listen and give you an opinion if laptop makes these sounds. Jack E/NJ

I still think you should have another person's opinion especially when the laptop is off. Sometimes it is hard to tell the exact direction from where a high-pitched cracking sound originates. It is hard for me to tell. Jack E/NJ

Normally you have 1 year ITW (international travellers warranty) warranty outside US (2 years inside US) but if you imported the laptop to you country the warranty might not be valid anyway but if you have purchased it in your country and you have traveled to another one it should be valid for more information contact Acer support

PufkavoKote I already replied and explained that no the warranty only applies in the country you have bought it basically what you are saying u went to the US to buy it cheaper and imported it to Sweden because in there its more expensive if this is your case no you warranty was voided the day you left the US and no need to shout in caps please you cant go to another country to buy a device because it cheaper and expect your warranty to work everywhere its not how it works avery country have their own warranty policies because the extra price you are paying its for customs and tax from your own country meaning if you evaded that you dont have warranty because you basically broke the law and thats it also the 1 year ITW outside of US only applies if you are travelling out of your own country for holidays for ex the moment you leave your country for good and register yourself permanently in another one the warranty its also useless

@xapim I don't know if it's illegal and the moderator can edit my answer if I'm wrong, but I think he can send the notebook to a friend or family member who lives in the US along with the purchase invoice and call the local warranty. However, I have never witnessed any user doing this kind of procedure and in addition he will have to pay for shipping the notebook. Or it can go back to the United States and trigger the local warranty.
