TheSkyOne yes it will fit but bare in mind the speeds will be even worse than a normal stock hdd if you are only going to use it as normal hdd the sshds cache speeds will only be noticeable if you use them as main system OS drives because as normal hdd will not cache anything in the flash i have 3 and tested them all to that purpose also seagate sshds are slower than the toshibas even when used as main system OS as i have also 2 one on each one of my my 2 5740G one firecuda 2tb and the toshiba H200 its about 20s/30s+ faster booting up than the seagate when used as system drive apart if used as normal hdd's both are slower that the normal stock ones anyway just letting you know about it if youre buying an sshd to install games on it thinking it will improve the game speeds dont got that way because it wont its useless you would be much better with a wdblack 1tb 7200rpm or even better with an ssd hope this helps

PS: the only 2.5" drives that will not fit the laptop are all the ones over 2tb (3tb and 5tb) because of the form factor 15mm you will not be able to close the hdd bay cover better use it as external drive instead like me :)

But the operating system comes preinstalled in the 256GB SSD right(the laptop hasnt actually came yet but i am assuming since its the only storage there is on the computer) so theres actually no reason to buy an sshd? Should i just buy a straight up ssd for game and other storage?

Oh and another question, will opening the laptop and installing it myself void the warranty?

TheSkyOne as i said yes if you only want it for gaming buy an ssd instead if you can afford it if not buy a 7200 rpm 2.5 drive and no you will not void the warranty unless your seller/shop has put a warranty seal in the hdd/ram bay for you not to touch it its a rare case but some shops do it they have their own internal warranty policies nothing to do with Acer themselves if you dont have any warranty seals anywhere you can disassemble it all to for ex clean repaste upgrade the m.2 drive that you will not loose the warranty unless you would damage it yourself while doing it that is considered self user damage and warranty will not cover it hope this clarifies everything :)
