Hi, I've recently purchased an Acer Aspire 3 A315-41. I wanted to replace the HDD hard drive it came with, with a Kingston 2"5 Sata 480GB SSD. I planned to install windows on the SSD via a USB which had windows in it. When I got to the boot menu, the USB or the SSD was no where to be seen. The only thing I could see was the HDD it came with. I enabled F12 boot menu and still, there was no sign of a USB drive plugged in or a SSD. Both of these are fully functional drives as I've managed to install windows on the SSD through a different laptop. When I replaced the HDD with the SSD, the message "No Bootable Device" came up. I've also tried to go into the bios and change the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy but there was no option to choose the Legacy. I only saw UEFI.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Regards.

You can't do this. You must clone the HDD onto the SSD through a USB port on the machine you want to put it in. Use Macrium Reflect or AOMEI backupper freeware to clone the HDD. Jack E/NJ
