Hi all, I am currently using the acer predator triton, I have posted many problems regarding my battery issues in the forum however there is one problem i wanted to ask. Normally when a laptop is fully charged to 100%, it will shows the word "fully charged" beside the battery percentage right ? as u guys can see I have insert an image of a normal working battery whereby it stated the word "fully charged" beside the battery percentage when it is fully charged. However mine seems to be missing the word "fully charged" as I have circle it at the attached image. Anyone have the same problem? After I unplug the charger, it will write fully charged. However after some time, it will then disappear. Funny thing is when  the word "fully charged" disappear and I plug out my charger it will become 99% immediately and it wont show 100% battery remaining. When it shows the word "Fully charged" and I plug the charger out, it will stay at 100% but about 30 seconds it will become 99%. I've tried to re calibrate the battery, reinstall battery drivers , discharged to 0% and recharged to 100% but all seems to not working. I just wanna ask, is this a battery problem or circuit charge problem or the motherboard problem?

  • Hello! What is your notebook? Example ph317-51! Also, have you tried removing these drivers and restarting the notebook?

Have you tried resetting the internal battery?
Does this situation occur when you are playing or using some program like autocad or some program that requires more performance?

Yes I have tried all of this but it seems that it doesn’t work is it the battery issue or my mother board issue?
  • Does this happen only when you're playing? Have you checked if there is any program using the nvidia video card in the task manager? I ask this because current notebooks also use battery power, even when they are connected to the power adapter, when it is necessary to provide more performance! I would also like to know the exact model of your notebook!

My acer number is PH 515-51 I have check the task manager there is no app running with Nvidia cards everything seems fine but still this battery problem still occurs. Will it possibly be the battery faulty or the motherboard ?

Check your windows battery report to see if your battery is good or faulty just to rule the battery out

marcushdjdjs your battery seems more than fine and its normal when you use the battery only to drain quick even when on AC its normal for the battery to drain if youre on high demanding works/games thats the battery main purpose it was made to help the adapter when this one cannot provide enough power to the cpu/gpu and it will only start to charge when on AC under 95% and if you reach 40% or lower you will loose all performance because the adapter cannot do both charge the battery and provide power to the hardware in this case you would have to stop what you are doing let the battery charge to 100 and start again and this happens in all gaming laptops from any manufacturer they all have the same design regarding the batteries

Ps: if you can i would leave it always on AC and never play on battery the battery its only good for light browsing and light tasks not for gaming it will reduce the battery life (in the long term) when u just use the battery the more charging cycles you use the more your battery life you will loose anyway just an advice

  • I agree with the colleague @xapim and also think there is no problem with the battery! However, if you still think it might be some with the battery, try disabling and then reactivating the battery driver!
