Acer SF314-52G does not detect boot usb after win10 update

Hallo all,

after window update,my laptop got bsod

have made alt-F10 and try with all recovery/reset/... BUT even safemode ( F4 or F5 ), I got the same bsod as above.

Thus,I must reinstall win 10 with usb.

The problems is my boot usb could not apprear in bios or boot menu ( F12 ).

I have disabled secure boot then try both ahci or legacy ( and move up usb hdd in legacy ).

I have made boot usb ( tried with 2 different usb ) by the microsoft media creation tool and rufus, tried both mbr/gpt with win 64 bit and tried usb ports on laptop.

Thanks for yr video.
actually I did not see that “clean hdd” on my laptop.
Acer Care center has helped me by take out the ssd then ghost the w10. Laptop is ok now though I can not use all usb ports. It is a very good option not to replace the MB.
one more good thing: Acer Care did not charge any fees for that job ( my laptop was out of warranty ).

Hi! Did you upgrade windows to version 1903? Have you tried updating drivers on intel and nvidia websites?

actually I did not remember which update be done. just updated the last win 10 one week ago.
I updated intel/nvidia drivers before that and my laptop was ok in some days until window update.

Yes, I did. Had tried all func in alt-f10 ( reset, uninstall, recovery,...) step-by-step. Same bsod.

Just an update.
Brought to Acer Vietnam, they suggest to replace mainboard. MB cost >700$ ( enough to buy a new Acer).
Laptop is in bsod.
Any ideas to repair without buying a new mb?

-my initial thought:
possibly, Acer tech presumed that Usb ports were failed (that was reason they could not reinstall w10), then the best solution is MB replacement.
-my idea: open laptop, take out ssd and test with another ssd with preinstall win ( just to know my thought is correct ).
then: create a w10 ssd to use with my laptop. sure that the usb ports are still useless But I still can use the laptop again... a laptop without usb.
Please feel free to give any cm, appreciate All.

Did the usbs ports work before the upgrade? Have you tried reinstalling windows using the alt + f10 command, but this time selecting the option that erases the hard drive?

the usb ports worked before win update.
can you advise me how to erase the hdd? I tried all in alt-f10 but did not see that func.
btw, in case of del hdd, the usb not work then how can i reinstall by usb?
note: this Acer has no cd.

You should enable d2drecovery in the uefi firmware, so that the alt + f10 command works! To do this, press f2 as soon as you turn on the notebook and find the d2drecovery function. After activating it, press f10 to save on exit and then press alt + f10 before the Acer logo!

yes,I had done it.did all available func in alt-f10 but final were bsod. just do not see the func “erase hdd” ( but even I found that func, how can I reinstall w10 when usb port not detect the boot usb? ).
