External GPU on Aspire 3

Hello everyone,
I just bought an external GPU, an Invidia GTX 1060 from Gigabyte. I've connected it to the laptop through the PCI express port using an external dock and power supply. I installed the drivers from the CD that came with the GPU box. I tried to use it both with the laptop screen that with an external monitor, connecting the GPU to it with an HDMI cable. The problem is that the resolution is stuck at 1024x768 and I have no possibility for changing it (I tried all the ways); also, after a couple of minutes the screen freezes, and I'm obligated to shut down the pc manually. Does anybody know if I have to change something in the bios settings to make the thing work? Or if I have to do something else? I also tried with the more recent drivers from Gigabyte official site but the result is the same.
I really wish to solve this issue 'cause I already bought all the staff.
Many thanks for your time,
marquis

    Good Morning marquis90 !

First, it is not allowed in the forum to share any information that affects the warranty of equipment.
EGPU procedures violate all warranties of the device.

In addition, the Aspire 3 series does not have adequate support for this procedure, nor can the processors handle a 1060.

I suggest you look in other forums.

I suggest you check this site: https://egpu.io/

Remembering that all these procedures are not recommended and end with all guarantees of the device, be it software or hardware.
