A kind friend thought he was doing me a favor when I asked him to restore my computer to an earlier time.  I wasn't able to do a System Restore myself; kept getting error messages.

 

The Windows 7 Home Premium operating system was taken off and replaced with a Windows 7 Ultimate without my knowledge.   Windows 7 Ultimate works beautifully, but it is not something I purchased.  I would like to put the Windows 7 Home Premium, the one I did pay for when I bought my Acer Aspire Laptop to begin with in 2010 at Radio Shack.

 

I called Microsoft on March 5th and they gave me a link to install the Windows 7 Home Premium.   A tech today, March 8th said that if it isn't the same Windows 7 Home Premium that was installed on my laptop originally, the product key that comes with the link won't work.  I wouldn't find this out until I cleaned the Ultimate version off.

 

Any suggestions?
