Hey there,

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 7 (A715-72G-55F4 if that helps anything) and I'm very happy with my purchase, however the touchpad has been bothering me for a while now. When I purchased this laptop I immediatly updated my Win 10 and all drivers, but I still noticed that my touchpad doesn't work. I started digging on how to solve this issue, tried to manually update the drivers in Device Manager and checked if the laptop actually recognizes the touchpad itself. However the device manager only recognizes my connected mouse and not the touchpad as seen in this image.

So umm, yeah. Help? I have no idea what to try further to get it to work. Thank you in advance for any help :)

    Hi @dimple
Try doing a RESET on the unit after taking back-up of all the data.

    1. Navigate to Settings. ...
    2. Select "Update & security"
    3. Click Recovery in the left pane. ...
    4. Click Get started under Reset this PC.
    5. Click either "Keep my files" or "Remove everything," depending on whether you want to keep your data files intact.
Hit Accept if its useful :)

Hey there! Thank you for your reply.

I did the steps you described however it unfortunatly hasn't resolved the issue. Device Manager still doesn't recognize the touchpad and it still doesn't work. :(

Spin touchpad mechanical switch broke and still under Warranty. Any suggestions as to the best method to have it repaired as far as time in the shop, contacting Acer, etc. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi
Go to Acer support site, download Serial IO driver and install, also make sure that you have Advanced mode for Touchpad in BIOS, press F2 as soon as you press power button, move to Main tab and check whether the touchpad is in Advanced mode.
