Aspire Acer E1 v5we2 power issue

I have an Aspire Acer E1 v5we2 that I inherited from my mother last year. Apparently she never used it, it was brand new. A couple weeks ago it simply shut down after I received a warning to plug it in, except it was plugged in. I purchased a new power cord and a week later the same thing happened. Obviously this is an issue with the actual port itself, since it happens with two different power plugs, and the only time I unplug it is to occasionally print in another room; it’s not possible to be from wear and tear. I’m sure I can locate the purchase record on her old email, but clearly it’s out of warranty. However, this laptop has only been used for one year, and it looks like I’m not the only one with this type of issue, so I’m wondering if there’s been some sort of recall for this particular model, or if anyone knows what I can do to fix this that won’t cost me more than simply purchasing a comparable model on eBay. I’m none to happy that I can’t at least access my files.
