For a week now I noticed my laptop( Helios 300-2018-i7-8thgen-1050ti) is overheating abnormally while plugged in. Usually, I get around 50 to 60deg while charging but these days it staying around 80-90deg(NO GAMING AT ALL, NORMAL BROWSING). The battery backup is worse I'm talking around 1hrs on full charge no gaming just using chrome. This is bad, i checked my power supply no issue i even tried various power outlets results are same

    Hi @Hari1999 ,
The  average temperatures of GPU and CPU around 89 and 90 degree Celsius respectively. I would suggest you to use the laptop in flat surface.
If the temperature is exceeding above 90 degree then, there might be issue with the hardware or coolant fan.
Regarding the battery issue, try doing a power drain
    1. Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2. Press and hold the Power button down for 15 seconds. ...
    3. If your system has a battery pinhole reset on the bottom, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole and hold the button down for 5 seconds.
    4. If still the issue exist then issue might be with the hardware of the unit.
Hit Accept if its useful :)

Is this when the system is idle? CPU at 23% implies some work going on - what is in the background?

Hari1999 have a feeling this is a thermal paste issue with the CPU only because the GPU seems almost notmal something is wrong with the paste i suggest contact acer suport for a repaste or repaste it yourself (with kryonaut or similar) if you can open it without voiding the warranty my cpu its on 41% usage and my temps are 51 max only so again your thermal paste either its rock solid (like mine was in the day i bough it) in the cpu or its all gone for good
