Hello, asking here since everywhere I look I only get a partial answer. My predator helios 300 ph315-53 has that horrid battery at 255% charge but if I unplug it auto shuts down. When I game it will randomly try to overclock which will try to drain the nonexistent battery which makes the pc frame lag and then shutdown in a strange hybernate mode where I need to hold the power buttom for 30 seconds to get it to fully shutdown(cost me my external hdd which died from the random shutdowns) and it progressively got worse since that damnable microsoft update I did last year around may. I finally decided to try and get the problem resolved and can't even update my bios(which is 1.02 even though I've run all the updates repeatedly) and since the system cannot detect the battery it auto shuts the update down. Is there anyway to fix this or will I have to take it to the shop and pray they don't butcher my pc?

MihaelZ64 check you battery wear percentage with hwinfo or battery bar pro if more that 15/20% consider replacing it or if under warranty send it back you can also perform a battery powerdrain and a proper calibration to try to see if it improves bare in mind to never remove the battery and the laptop needs a healthy battery for gaming and always on AC the battery main purpose its to aid the adapter with more power when this one cant provide enough to the cpu/dgpu its kinda like a powerbank and should only be used on battery on emergency and really light work  good luck :)

This is called light bleeding. It's not exactly a problem. About the bios update above, do not interrupt the procedure!

My Acer Predator Laptop just stopped working. PT315-51-594J (Predator Triton 300). I am just watching a series until it closes all the tabs and shuts down. I can't open it anymore even the charger is plugged in. I have not registered for my warranty since I didn't know that it is needed, also I cannot find my original receipt. I purchased it August 2020.

It won't make a difference, odds are you'll get no actual support.
