Hello everyone, this is my first post, so, thanks in advance for any help!.
I have recently acquired a brand new Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52
  • 15,6 inches
  • i7-9750
  • 16GB RAM DDR4
  • 256SSD Nvme + 1TB HDD
  • RTX2060 6GB
Yesterday I played for first time (CS GO just for 10 minutes) and the temperature was so high
  • CPU 80
  • GPU 75
  • FANS in auto Mode
Changing the FANS to maximum speed the temperature was decreased but was still high.
  • CPU 71
  • GPU 70
But the real problem was with the case, the upper side, around F keys was very very hot.

After that, I started searching how to improve the temperatures and I decide to do some changes:
  • First one, I decreased the CPU in Energy Plan Settings from 100% to 99%
  • After that I Undervolted the GPU to 925 with MSI afterburner.
  • FANS at maximum speed with the Acer Predator tool.
Results stables for more than 1 hour playing:
  • CPU 58
  • GPU 57
I think is a really really good improvement (please correct me if I am wrong), the thing is that I want better results (because the fans are too loud at maximum speed) and probably make sense to replace thermal paste and thermal pads and reduce fans speed to be in the same temperature range.
  • For thermal paste I have been thinking in Thermal Gryzzly Kryonaut
  • For thermal pads, I have been thinking also in Thermal Gryzzly but I don't know the thickness to use.
Do you have any hint on this matter?

    Hello all

I have been reading a lot of threads in this community and I will try to use the thermal pads used in one of the videos (1.0mm and 1.5mm) shared by "Hotel Hero".
    • To replace the pads I will use Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad
    • And the thermal paste will be the Thermalright TFX
As soon as I made the changes I will inform with the new temperatures ;)

In the other hand, now I am having a lot of problems with Predator Sense, after upgrade:
    • BIOS from v1.02 to v1.03
    • Nvidia Drivers
Now I cannot monitor the GPU temp in Predator Sense, I have tried to solve it by doing the following things:
    • Reinstall the application
    • Sleep mode
    • Restart service "PSSvc"
    • Launch applications and make sure that are running over the RTX
    • Change 3dSettings from auto to Nvidia in Nvidia Panel
    • Change PhysX to Nvidia
    • Change units from Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice verse
So, I am using MSI Afterburner to check the temps and is working great, but I have a few questions.
    • Is possible to control the fan speeds of our laptops by using MSI Afterburner? I am asking this because at least in my case the icon appears in grey, so, I cannot.
    • Is possible to use MSI Dragon Speed? I tried to use it but I was able to see only the CPU temp.
    • Is possible to create profiles to control the fan speed depending on the game running?
I am asking all that because I don't trust in the auto mode from Predator Sense, imaging the following scenarios:
    • Playing CS GO, you want to have the fans running at 70% min, in case of reach temps higher than 65º Celsius increase fan speed to 90%
    • Playing Fortnite, you want to have the fans running at 65% min, in case of reach temps higher than 60º Celsius increase fan speed to 80%
    • ...
    Thanks in advance to all!

    I recently purchased the acer predator helios 300 2019 i7 9750h 1660ti version
I had installed steam and downloaded just cause 3 game and was playing and when I pressed the predator sense button while in the game the game froze and the predator sense app was resized it was bigger and larger than the usually size
So I tired to shut down my laptop and check it again But the size of the app didn't revert back I tried restarting the laptop again it wasn't much of a help
So I went in settings, apps and then apps & features then predatorsense and advanced options and selected repair and opened the predatorsense app again It still looked way bigger than usual the predator sense app so I selected reset from the advanced options cause the option said *if this app still isn't working right reset it. The app will be reinstalled and revert to its default settings and the documents won't be affected* But the moment I did that the app was completely vanished from my taskbar and the predator button wasn't even opening the predator sense app And the predatorsense app was removed from apps and features from settings menu as well.
So I went on the support page and downloaded the predator sense app data after putting my SNID code And extracted it And selected the setup but it gave me an error saying *another version of the this product is already installed*
So I went back in the setting and apps and uninstall predatorsense service as well.
And then I again went back to the setup and tried to install a fresh predator sense application both the predatorsense and predatorsense services got installed but still I can't see the application on my laptop and even now the predatorsense button isn't working.
I have no control over the fans cooling gup over clocking or even the rgb light right now.
I request you to help me out immediately

Honestly, your temperatures are actually pretty good. I don't see any reason to repaste (though it won't hurt if you know what you're doing), although while is always a good idea.
As for fan settings, I wouldn't game on auto unless I'm playing something that has extremely low requirements where the laptop works only slightly more than when just browsing the web or doing other normal desktop things. For everything else I suggest setting custom fan speeds of ~3500 RPM to ~5000 RPM for both CPU and GPU, depending on how much the game in question taxes the system. There is hardly ever any reason to run the fans at full speeds.
