I bought a new Helios 300 with 256GB SSD, I have a 2 TB HDD which i would like to add.The model is PH315-52-78VL.I saw a D.I.Y  guide on adding HDD on an acer website, but it was the old Helios model.The design has changed now. Would it void the warranty if I try to add one myself? And if so would it be a good idea to?

    Hi!!

    @Grant123

    As far to my knowledge, consumers can upgrade the hardware component of laptop and that will not void warranty. However, ensure that upgrading process does not make any physical damages to the original component in the computer. Acer Standard Manufacturer Warranty does NOT honor physical damages, Customer Induced Damages & 3rd party software issues.

    I am really not sure regarding the D.I.Y guide which you followed for adding hard drive. I recommend you to click here to get clear pictorial information on installation of additional HDD to Predator Helios 300 laptops.

    Grant123 If you would have to break any seal to do it yes you would void it its but if its only the internal hdd i dont see what would be the point of putting seals in there usually the user can change/upgrade the hdd and ram if its accessible without have to open the chassis but if you would have to take it all apart better ask the seller/shop or acer support first about voiding the warranty because some countries you can some you cant every country and sellers themselves have their own policy warranty wise
