Yes, this is normal when there is demand! so I recommend that you put the battery in high performance as well.

As it was said thats the main purpose of the built in battery on gaming laptops to aid the adapter in high demanding tasks/games when the adapter cant provide enough power to support the cpu/gpu have you undervolted/optimized windows it might help

So should I perform cpu or gpu undervolting since my cpu is i5 8300h not the i7 version

undervolt works with any there are pre made TS confs for various cpus in the predator fb group then its just a case of adjusting for the ideal numbers if needed
