I habe a Predator Helios 300 that i got through radio rentals, and after about 18 months, it no longer turns on, i put a post up to ask for help, and was told that there is an overheating issue that the predators have and nothing is being done about it

The thermal issues are common on all gaming laptops all manufacturers have them and with all predators its easy to fix optimize windows/undervolt and if stil needed repaste with kryonaut or similar i did all that on mine myself 2 weeks after i got it and upgraded everything i could never had any issue since mine has about the exact age as yours i can run all games including latest on ultra cpu 75/80 max gpu 70/75 max those are the max temps i got of course all depends on the cpu and gpu a 1060 would be a bit hotter but the advisable temps are under 90 everything over 90 its already throttling you stated yours wont turn on have you power drained the battery or checked the kill switch in the ram compartment if its properly pressed when closed ???

I always have it plugged in and the only part i can access is the hard drive without removing the whole base of the laptop.

Before it stopped turning on at all, it would give me an error code

If you are out of warranty you can disassemble it yourself and clean it properly (fans airflow exit etc...) including repaste it with kryonaut or similar and make sure all the killswitches along the chassis (wherever they are) are properly pressed after assembling it back together especially the switch in the ram compartment or will not turn on or will give you black screen

Its still covered by the rental agency, but due to the screen getting broken, and the only acer certified person leaving town, i have to get it fixed myself
