E5-575G-52RJ SDD Question

Greetings, everyone.  I want to upgrade my wife's laptop with a faster drive.  The laptop itself was never really fast and I contributed that to the HDD.  I want to upgrade to a SDD and keep the existing HDD as backup.  Thinking that the laptop had another 2.5 bay, I purchased an SDD slot only to find out that there is only 1 bay.  So now I have to purchase an M.2, but I am totally unfamiliar with this.  So my question is, which M.2 does this laptop support?  From what I understand, they come in different dimensions, so I don't want to make another purchase without knowing exactly which one to buy.  2280 seems like the common type, so I assume that's the one I should get.

Thanks for the help!

So the SSD standard is M.2 2280 Sata 3.
I suggest you not use NVMe standards because some users have already reported incompatibility.

    Good night WildcatTM !

As for SSD, there are not all models that I have M2 slot.
Watch this video and check by opening the back of your device to find out if it has the M2 slot.
If yes, the idela would use even M2 and leave the original for data.

Thank you, MaClane.  I do have an M2 slot, but I'm not sure which M2 is supported.
