I have acer nitro 5 an515-51 i5 7300hq laptop. Its been more than a year , i used to feel that the laptop becomes hot near the lid but i never checked the temps. Now when i checked the temps the cpu temp reaches 90 c while gaming and gpu is fine around 70. Its still not giving me a problem while gaming but those temps looks dangerous to me>>>please tell me something what to do...

Same Issue here bro! I'm planning on cleaning the fans as shown in this video:  (Helios 300 and Nitro 5 have a very similar construction)

Cleaning the fans,  I don't feel that will help reason being the fans are working pretty fine and I don't really believe in dust cleaning tbh,  you can try though if that helped plz tell me

Nitro and Predator are designed to run hot, anything below 90deg is OK with the occasional spike. If you live in the USA you can Repaste your CPU with Grizzly without voiding the warranty
    https://www.newegg.com/p/2S7-00A9-00013?item=9SIA4RE6M28090&ignorebbr=1&source=region&nm_mc=knc-googlemkp-pc&cm_mmc=knc-googlemkp-pc-_-pla-corn+electronics-_-cpu+thermal+paste+%2f+grease-_-9SIA4RE6M28090&gclid=Cj0KEQjw3PLnBRCpo8PCoaGM99MBEiQAppRuCxgJjJpc5HSPkgESVNtFIYr__XHHgvy20XGkBgy1SBUaAiOw8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds
That should bring it down about 10 deg. Keep Nitrosense on Max with Coolboost. I use a Targus cooling pad with it's own built in Fans which are powered thru the USB port. If you do all this you should get about a 15deg reduction on your CPU which will bring it well within range. Try this before underclocking and losing performance. Let us know how it goes

If your model does not support Nitrosense you can download Predator sense here, it is unlocked for your model

And watch this video if you want to unlock the Turbo feature

The i5-7300HQ should fairly easily accept -0.100v undervolt to both core and cache. This will reduce the voltage going to the processor at all power levels, allowing it to run cooler.

Additionally, re-pasting the laptop with a quality thermal paste and cleaning the fans is a MUST! Some people will think they can skip this and simply click around on their computer to lower the temperatures. The fact remains, if you have dust in the system or a poorly performing thermal paste then no software tweaks will help you.

All of the information, software, tools and guides to undervolt and repaste your processor are linked in my signature.
