    (1) What were you trying to install?

    (2) What is your full ACER model number?

First try uninstalling, not just disabling, any non-Microsoft antivirus scanners. Then reboot. Jack E/NJ

If you think it's Windows update, then Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point ' in left pane. Click 'system restore' button. Click 'next ' . Select automatic Win10 update restore point with the date the problem notice first appeared. Jack E/NJ

You better hurry to check for a restore point. They are automatically deleted after a few weeks. Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point ' in left pane. Click 'system restore' button. Click 'next ' . Select restore point with the date when you first noticed the problem. Jack E/NJ

Then you can either reset to factory-installled Win10 or refresh it while trying to save your personal files using the ALT+F10 cold boot recovery method as shown in this video. Jack E/NJ
