The ethernet port on my Aspier E5-575G has come loose and is now unusable, is it fixable?

The expandable port on my laptop for an ethernet cable usually springs close when there's no cable, but now does not. The lower flap just hangs open, so if I attempt to use ethernet, the cable will just fall out. The actual port works fine if i hold the cable in at a specific angle, so it seems fine internally, but this makes it pretty much impossible to use ethernet. My warranty ended 6 months ago and I'm not sure where I could get this fixed

I think we all should sue Acer to replace for free this garbage ports. I am a professional worker and many many times I fail to provide the right work because I have to spend a lot of time trying to figure the best position for the ethernet cable to do the right conexion, and man, streess me out horrible! I will never ever buy another Acer computer.

With these expandable ethernet ports always breaking on Acer laptops that has affected thousands of owners, why is it impossible to find this replacement part online anywhere?

These LAN ports are all the same on all laptops NOT just Acer and they will break the same. It takes allot of abuse and force for the bottom plastic clip to break on these LAN port so you must have not had the CAT8 cable with its RJ45 plug plugged into the port fully and properly and that is why the bottom clip broke.

Search the web as these ports are available on eBay so look there, this is one type of Laptop RJ45 connector LAN Jack ethernet port For HP LENOVO IBM ACER ASUS SAMSUNG etc. 12PIN LED, do not try and solder this yourself unless you have micro soldering tools and a very good eye sight as you need a microscope to do this job, take your laptop to a technitian as that is the best solution in replacing these ports

The question was, where to find the replacement expandable ethernet port assembly, not the actual RJ45 jack that you pictured. They don't seem to exist anywhere and Acer is beyond useless to help. A picture of the part in question:

The captions that you took above looks like its the bottom case where the clip Ethernet port that is a part of the bottom case and its hinge mechanism is of the laptop, as by your question I thought that you were talking about the actual RJ45 port on the mainboard, Anyway, the options that you have as I've said above is to either refit the old school RJ45 port that doesn't need that case RJ45clip to secure the RJ45 plug/cable or get a new bottom case with the oem clip RJ45 port that is a part of the bottom case of the Aspire E5-575 laptop from eBay or AliExpress as its available there. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

These could be the parts that you are after:

Thank you very much for the reply. I have spent about 8 hours searching online for this part assembly without luck, just my question asked by about a dozen others with zero answers. The only thing I could find on AliExpress was some doors only without the entire expandable ethernet port assembly. I did find one bottom cover on eBay that looks like the expandable ethernet port assembly is intact, but it could have the same problem as mine. I'm giving up in defeat and will just order an Ethernet to USB C dongle from Amazon. With all the Acer Aspire owners with the same problem, it's amazing that this replacement part doesn't exist! Thanks again for your help Steven, I hope you have a great day!

Yes, these new RJ45 clip on ports are very annoying and cheap and they don[tt last long as their clips break, its not like the old RJ45 ports where it didn't have that bottom clip which is the part of the case.

A solution is to refit the old RJ45 metal port instead of these new cheap plastic RJ45 port, see the caption below as that is the oem RJ45 of your E5-575 G laptop, see if you can get a technician to do this for you as the old metal port are allot better and sturdier and are available on eBay or at an electronic parts store.
