I purchased a Swift 3 SF315-52-51NV 15.6 today. It has a 1TB 5400 rpm magnetic drive. I cloned the drive using AOMEI backup software to a 256GB SATA SSD (not m.2). I would like to replace the hard drive with this SSD but would like to test the boot using USB before opening the machine (it has a 15-day return policy, so I want to test everything without opening the machine right now)

I checked the setup and found UEFI and secure boot disabled. I also enabled the F12. I cannot see the USB drive in the list of drives in the boot menu (it actually came one time but then it went away). When it came in F12 I tried to boot using USB but it actually booted from the internal drive.

Is there any way to test the boot via USB without opening the cover and replacing the hard drive?
