I'm trying to do a full restore/reset from Recovery Management on Aspire TC-885-UR19I5-8400. It seems straightforward and much like other recovery systems I've used in the past. Problem is, at best, it only gets to 48% and fails. Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi @ktman55,

Sorry to know that recovery fails at 48%. I request you to please share the error message you get at 48% during failure of reset process. Also I would like to know that you selected "Fully clean the Drive" during the reset process.

Thanks so much for your quick reply @balatekie.

Very good questions. I'm going to answer them out of order though. 1) I (erroneously) selected the option to keep my files, even though this was a "new" open box computer. 2) There was no error message. It simply hanged on a dark/black screen that indicated it was 48% complete and said something like, "please wait" or "do not turn off your computer". I'm not 100% sure because I went to bed at 1:30 am and when I checked it again at 7:30 am it had not changed, so I shut the computer off. When I restarted it I got a message that the restoration had been unsuccessful and had been reverted.

That's when I posted my question. Then I upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 16 GB and tried the restore/reset again, but this time I chose to erase everything. I am happy to report that the restoration/reset process worked flawlessly this time and took only less than an hour!

I am very happy with the results as it is running as I would expect.

Thank you again for your response!!
