AH100 Right Controller Thumbstick stuck in back position (mechanically ok)

Hi!
A friend just gifted me  the Acer Mixed Reality Headset AH100, and going through the Windows Mixed Reality, Steam and other platforms, I noticed that the right controller thumbstick is permanently stuck in the back/bottom position. The thumbstick doesn't appear to be broken mechanically, and the controller works fine otherwise. It seems my friend had it for some time as it is out of warranty and Acer has refused to talk to me about it.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there anything I can do to try and debug? Is this user-repairable? Would love any suggestions/input on this.

    Hi! see the attached image. This thumbstick moves normally, I don't feel any break. However on the screen it is as if the stick is constantly in the down position. It is currently in storage so I cannot send an actual picture or screenshot.

    If you're still in warranty just contact Acer support and they will get it swapped out for you. If you're out of warranty it's worthwhile to tear the controller down to see if it's a great shorted wire or a problem in the switch assembly itself.
