My query is around the display panel of Acer Nitro (AN515-52) that I bought a couple of days ago. The specs states that this laptop comes with IPS panel but I suspect that the one that I bought doesnt have the IPS panel. This is the manufacturer and model of the display of my laptop- AU Optronics- AUO61ED.

Here I want to know-
1- Is it the authentic display provider, Acer laptops are built with?
2- if this display is an IPS panel or not (This link states it is not- http://www.panelook.com/B156HAN06.1 HW1A_AUO_15.6_LCM_parameter_31545.html)

Appreciate any help.

It's an IPS alternative technologie: " This technology is said to be the equivalent to LG Display's IPS technology (and Samsung's PLS)". For me, AHVA is better than IPS.

    Hello,
    1. Yes it is
    2. About AHVA:
      "What is AHVA?
Yet another proprietary "IPS-like" panel type that offers similar performance to PLS. Developed by AUO, AHVA is short for Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle. The acronym can be slightly confusing as AHVA technology will sometimes be mixed up with Vertical Alignment (VA, see below) even though it makes use of In-Plane Switching (IPS)."

Thank you so much Laurent for the prompt response.

Sorry but I was not able to relate the 2nd point.  Might be because I didnt asked my question clearly.

I can see that the link I provided earlier states the panel type is - "a-Si TFT-LCD , LCM". Even,  I am not able to understand this completely but it made me think this is not the IPS... So, if this is not IPS but "IPS-like", are customers being conned by the sellers?

Thanks again Laurent but I think I am a nerd.    I m not sure if your last response states it is an IPS panel.
Meanwhile, I learnt how to read a model number (B156HAN06.1) (https://www.laptopscreen.com/blog/au-optronics-lcd-model-numbers-explained/) and now I am confused if it is IPS panel or not.
    A straight answer may help.
