About the query for the BIOS update - Aspire 5 (A515-51G-50UW)

Hello,
I purchased a laptop Acer Aspire 5 (A515-51G-50UW) and i want to update my motherboard BIOS.
It's currently working on version 1.2 and my system responds very slow because of this BIOS.
I went to Acer Service Centre to get my pc checked and they told me to reinstall my window in UEFI mode.
Currently I have installed windows 10 pro in Legacy mode and they are telling me that for updating BIOS, you have to reinstall your software in UEFI mode.
So, my question is Can I update my BIOS myself or Can I change my BIOS mode myself?
Could this thing void my warranty?

I have one more question that If I update my BIOS, then will it change my motherboard protocol?
My current protocol is AHCI. After updating BIOS, will it be NVMe?

You need to backup your user files to a separate drive.

Reinstalling the OS is possible by a USB made with Media Creation Tool. You need to set the current BIOS to UEFI mode before starting the install.

Once installed, you can update the BIOS. From the specification it says 128GB SSD SATA

You would need to have an M2 slot in the machine that is NVMe capable and change the SSD to an NVMe drive. AHCI is a SATA protocol. NVMe is PCIe.

My laptop has a M.2 slot but I don't know which kind of port it has.
I don't know that it has Sata port or NVMe port.
Do you know that how to check the ports?

Yes sure you can update your BIOS yourself, for that one you need to follow the below steps.
By following these tips you will be able to reset your BIOS
1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or until and until your system shuts completely down.
2. Power on the system as soon as the first logo appears immediately press F2 function key.
3. Now you are in BIOS mode
4.Press F9 key and then hit enter to load the default configuration.
5. Now press f10 key and hit enter to save and exit.

Make sure you download the correct BIOS for your specific product and use the following steps in the given order ONLY installing an incorrect BIOS update may cause the serious damage to your system so please make it sure that you are following the proper steps.

1. Visa drivers and manual section of the Acer support website.
2. Enter your serial number/SNID or you can directly search for your product by model itself also.
3. Select the BIOS tab to display the latest available BIOS version compare this to your BIOS version to determine if your BIOS is up to date.
IF NOT THEN DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF BIOS AND INSTALL IT.
