Hello, I am having an issue with my laptop. A few days ago the USB port on the left side started disconnecting my mouse and reconnecting it. I tried using a different mouse, and it is doing the same thing.

I saw a few suggestions after googling about this. I have checked for updates on both Windows and the all USB drivers in device manager. I have gone into device manager and uninstalled the USB Root Hubs and restarted to have Windows reinstall them, I have gone into power management and turned off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", nothing has fixed the issue.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so what the solution was, thanks!

Have you always used the left port for the mouse dongle? Jack E/NJ

Yes. I should probably also note that this random disconnecting and reconnecting is happening when I am playing games, so I'm not sure if that could have something to do with it.

Does it only happen with high-power consumption gaming? The reason I ask is that the left port is not the usual USB3 super speed port. It also senses battery charge in order to support PC/off charging. Furthermore, USB3 ports generally may be unpredictable with devices that only meet USB2 specs. So if for some reason you must use this special port for the mouse dongle instead of the plain vanilla USB2 right port, I suggest trying to keep the battery near 100% charged and charger plugged in BEFORE starting heavy power loads. It’s been happening only when gaming. I have tried leaving it plugged in and also tried the USB2 port on the right side, and after about 2 hours it started disconnecting and reconnecting there as well. I’ve also tried another mouse, and same issue.

There's the answer. Your charger is not keeping up with the load of playing the game and charging your battery at the same time. You either need to get the bigger charger or start out with a 100% charged battery so you can play the game longer. I'm gonna guess that  you probably have the dinky 45watt charger. Jack E/NJ

The gaming charger is 65watts. The part #s are KP.06501.010 or KP.0650H.012. Google those numbers or 'a315-41' '65w'. About $20 with free shipping from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Superer-Charger-Replacement-A315-21G-A315-41G/dp/B07FSRYG3M

I have the exact same problem where my mouse disconnects and immediately reconnects . I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 -- bought on end of February 2020 and this problem started 1 week ago from around 20th April.
The problem intensifies on heavy tasks (Games), but when my PC is idle or not used, the disconnection problem is seen rarely.
Even I have seen this problem lessens itself when the Air Condition is turned directly to the laptop to let it cool. Games are unplayable with this bug of mine. I am seriouly very dissapointed for past week. Please HELP

@EZIOKITTU you should start a new thread with your issue. You have a different model than the one that started this thread, so your diagnostics and fix will very likely be different too. Include your full model number, the symptoms you are seeing and what steps you have taken to try and figure it out so far.
