I cannot get my Aspire VN7-592G to 'Extend' or 'Duplicate' to a BenQ projector via HDMI to VGA

As stated, my Acer is not extending to my projector nor does my projector recognize a 'source'; my Laptop.
I am using a HDMI out from the Acer and to a VGA-end cable to the projector.
I see that there are many firmware and software updates from Acer available. Can you recommend a specific update that will resolve this issue?
I also see that some of your 'Firmware" have the potential to 'Harm Your Computer'. Yikes! is this true?

It is not possible to go from a digital output to an analog input signal in such a fashion. At least not without an active HDMI > VGA adapter if you can find one.

HDMI contains no analog signal so it is not possible for any combination of passive adapters and/or cables to convert it to VGA.

Thank you for the quick reply tobimaru! I wish the solution was better for me. Should I assume that any 'output' port that is not VGA-pins will result in the same issue? Meaning, that they too are digital and not analog?
    Thank You in advance.

    Update 6/25/19
I finally got around to ordering and receiving a HDMI to VGA adapter. Made by Chenlenic. It works! The VGA end needs to go into the [Computer] port as opposed to the [Monitor] port.... I've tried both ports with two other adapters I've bought. I then used the  Fn-F5 Keys and duplicated the image to the projector.
The adapter cost $17.99 and was listed as an adapter/converter.
I DO NOT have to but a new projector. I'm happy!
