My model was manufacturered in August 29th of last year, their has been 2 updates Since then that are not currently on the laptop and i wish to flash update them. one of them is related to increased memory support and compatability that i want.

OK. Then what problem are you having with increasing the memory? Unless the existing or larger DDR4 module isn't being recognized by the current BIOS firmware, it should NOT be changed due to the significantly greater risk of bricking or causing adverse side effects relative to peripheral device driver updates. it wouldnt recognize 2400, i just fixed that. But now it's not recognizing the new M.2 SSD Hard drive i put in
and i noticed 2 bios updates on the acer support site that are past the date of my laptops manufacturer and just sort of figured that could solve the problem of the new SSD not being recognized.

picked this one up today and installed it, very easy and what not, laptop even came with the retainer screw, fits in the slot perfectly.
Computer/bios does not detect it at all though. it is a ADATA

    XPG SX6000 Pro M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD, 256GB

i'm guessing it's not a supported hard drive. I am thinking a SATA 3 model such as this one

Yeah, NVMEs are kinda touchy even though they're supposed to be backward compatible.  Still sorta bleeding edge tech that you're SATA3 bus slot can't take advantage of anyway. Even some PCIe 2x&4x slots have problems with them. If it were mine, I wouldn't risk a brick in hopes of magically getting it to work. The Kingston is a better bet and probably cheaper too.
