I noticed that some games just wouldn't work with my nvidia gpu and it would just display a black screen before the game stops responding. Running the same game with the integrated graphics fixes it but im stuck with 10-20 FPS. I've tried updating my drivers and a clean reinstall of my geforce 970m to no avail. Any fixes for this??

The drivers provided by Acer are tested and approved for the best possible operation.
    Even so, they are outdated.
If in your case it solved, that's great news.

    Good Morning Yowen !

What exact model of your laptop?
Have you updated drivers for both Nvidia and intel HD Graphics?
Is the device set to high performance in Windows power options?
Are you playing with the appliance plugged into the power outlet?
Did you set up the Nvidia Painle for games to use the GTX 970?

Not sure if its a permanent fix but I tried using the nvidia driver provided from the acer website for the specified model and it seems to be working for now

I tried everything and nothing worked until I found the below online.

You need to Go to Power Options in the Control Panel, then click Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Plan Settings, scroll down to PCI Express and expand the below menus. Next to Plugged In change it to 'Off' (if you want to game on battery you will need to change that too). This used to always be off but has apparently changed in recent updates. This setting messes with the GPU transition from Integrated Graphics as you try to boot a game.

Remember how to do this as it may need to get re-done each time you update graphics drivers.

I also turned off Fast Startup, not sure if this made a difference or not.
