Can I add additional SSD drive to my Nitro 5?

I think you do not understand, see:

a) your model comes with a m2 2280 port that supports both ssd sata 3 and ssd nvme gen3x4, see:

You can not add two ssd m2 2280, as there is one port available

b) when the nitro 5 models come with a ssd installed, they do not usually with the sata cable or with the caddy holder that are in these photos:

You should check if your notebook has that kit!

Let me make it clear in an easy way:
This series ONLY has a single M.2 2280 slot for SSD.
If the Sata 3 connection to a 2.5 '' HDD exists, you can use a 2.5 inch SSD.

1) This model has only one m2 input! In this case you should replace the current ssd for one with at least 512gb, sata 3 or nvme gen3x4, because the service guide for this notebook model shows that this notebook supports these ssds with the capacity of at least 512gb:

On the hd, you should check if your model comes with the sata cable and the caddy holder for the hd!

2) You can choose brands like samsung, kingston, intel, adata that have the size m2 2280 with speeds sata 3 or nvme gen3x4!

By default this series supports a single M.2 2280 slot with Sata 3 or NVME Gen3x4 support tested by Acer up to 512Gb.

What you can do is replace your HDD with a 2.5 "Sata 3 standard SSD.
Being on this connection, SSD's of up to 2TB would be no problem.

Brand, capacity, séire, etc. is at your discretion.

Kinghston, Corsair and Samsung are great brands.

Can not install two ssds m2! However, you can add a 2.5 "sata 3 ssd instead of hd, as reported by fellow maclane!

Okay, it is "AN515-51-55WL" actually.

Your model comes with a ssd m2 2280 sata 3 of 256gb! Now some models in the united states, when they come with a ssd m2, do not come with the sata cable and nor with the caddy holder to add the hd! You should check if your notebook came with this kit!

So what I asked is actually possible, as in:

I already have 1x SSD installed (which is M.2 SSD)
I can add 1x more SSD (which could be 2.5" SSD)

Therefore, I would be able to have TWO SSDs in total. <---- Yes, correct!

I'm sorry for I didn't understand what it meant by "M.2" SSD or "2.5 inch" SSD. To me, they're SSD. And therefore, it brings me to the conclusion that I might be able to have 2 SSDs installed in total. Anyway, now I understand what you guys mean. Sorry for my noobness.

Just one quick question, before I close the case.

What's the difference (in terms of speed or performance) between having "M.2 SSD" vs "2.5 inches SATA 3 SSD". Is there any trade? Or just the size that matters?

The ssd m2 2280 has a much faster reading and writing rate than the 2.5 "ssd! I did not understand what you wanted to ask about trading!
