I'm trying to connect my Acer Aspire 5 (A515-51) to a second external Monitor.

NOTE: I ALREADY HAVE MY LAPTOP CONNECTED TO AN EXTERNAL MONITOR USING THE HDMI, Now i want to connect a SECOND MONITOR to my laptop.

What option do i have to connect a second external screen to my laptop.
The Aspire has one USB-C port and other USB 3.1 ports. When I plug the USB-C to DVI adapter into the USB-C port on the Aspire and into the monitor, I get the error "Display connection might be limited" and the monitor does not work. If this USB-C port does not support connecting to another monitor (e.g. using DVI), is there a way to make this work using some other method?

Any ideas if this will work for Windows 10? I already have another external monitor connected to his laptop using HDMI.

Kind Regards,
Lizette

    Good Morning Zettie29 !

The USB-Type C version of this model is 3.1 Gen.1, for data only.
Only USB-Type C 3.1 Gen.2 connections with Thunderbolt technology support can send video signal.

In your case an HDMi spliter would be a viable solution:
