I use my laptop nearly daily, but treat it carefully like anyone else would, but while I was opening the laptop i heard a crack and this crack appeared

Is this common place to happen? I love this laptop but is there anything I can do to help this, after all it is still under warranty, and if something like this is occurring with no fix, I don't think i could recommend any acer laptop

Physical damages are not covered under Acer warranty. But you can send the unit for repair to Acer for a chargeable repair

@Jack22 This "physical Damage" was done by the simple act of opening and closing the laptop something that was one of the reasons i bough a laptop for, the stress points in the frame being this breakable seems like planned obsolescence

In Addition to this you can clearly see the change in the hinges in between models, this would lead me to belive that this is a common problem and not one done due to human error yoou

Ok. So you can check with Acer support, than send it in for repair. The repair tech will check and let you know whether it can be consider as physical damage or it can be repaired under warranty.
