Probably because you don't have an extended warranty on the machine beyond 12 months. If you haven't done so, you should just try to reset the machine to a factory fresh state using the ALT+F10 cold boot method as shown below to try to resolve the problem . Jack E/NJ

ye done 4 times.First time ive had acer now the last ive got laptops 5 and 10 years old and still work not like this £900 paper weight
even the independent engineer spent 2 hours trying to fix
in this day and age it should last longer than 18 months all usb not working and blue tooth stopped working so they expect me to pay almost half the price of the laptop to replace the board which is faulty i would have to be stupid

(extended warranty or not it should last a lot longer)
  • What is the exact model of your notebook? Example an515-51-75kz! Have you checked if there are any drivers with problems in the device manager? Have you tried resetting the internal battery?

Depending on the exact AN5xx-xx model, the BT WLAN card probably can simply be replaced if it's failed out of warranty. Usually less than $20usb with free shipping. Jack E/NJ

If your having a problem with all your USB's and your Wifi it's likely a board problem, North or Southbridge Chip would be my guess. If we can help you find a replacement board please let me know.

Sorry, if the ALT+F10 cold boot erase-everything re-set didn't work, it's likely a hardware failure. And if none of the USB ports work, and all Device Manager's USB controller and/or BT entries are either missing or have red warnings, it's probably at the mainboard level. A solder reflow might work but risks its remaining functionality. Jack E/NJ

yes i know it was a motherboard fault before i call the engineer
have a feeling its a voltage regulator thats gone
i was using it went to make a brew came back and thought my battery had died in my mouse lol just bad build quality

    now moved to asus
gona sell this as a digital picture frame or paper weight lol

as to repairs most will cost as much as the laptop when new

Nope. Just time consuming. Might not work but maybe worth a try.  A mainboard solder reflow can be done in a toaster oven pre-heated to ~425*F. Bake it for ~15 mins on a sheet of aluminum foil. Jack E/NJ
