How to add memory to Acer Nitro 5 - 17.3 Version (Different from the 15 version)

I have seen many instructions that say how to add memory to the 15 inch version.  But the larger version does not have the same back as the 15 inch version.  It has no such openings on the back.  Do I have to take off the entire back?

I contacted Elite Support and they said it two sticks are supported, but that they could not give me instructions on installing it because it is an upgrade and they do not support upgrades.

Nitro AN517-51 is the model number.

I am also looking for guidance on taking off the entire back.  I can't find anything on it yet.  I took out all twelve screws (I think it was twelve) but couldn't really find out how to release the back or the correct way to pry it apart.  I think I will try asking support as well.  It is all plastic and one piece, I don't want to screw it up and snap off some catches or something.

You have to take off the entire back just unscrew all the screws holding it on and watch this

I asked support chat and they don't have information on how to properly remove the back panel to change the ram or stick SSD or add a hard drive to the one available HDD slot.  I'm going to take another shot at it.  One review of the laptop or a very similar acer nitro model with the same solid back said they just "took the back off" and showed a picture of it with back removed, so I'm guessing its not that difficult.  I plan on using a non-marring pry tool set nylon composite to take it apart.

That's what's in the link I posted above, it doesn't show much at all. Yep just pry it apart carefully

Thanks,  I started the prying off from the front of the keyboard side and the catches released fairly easily all away around to the back vents and lifted right off.  A small nylon pry tool worked well.  I added a 2.5 inch SSD for storage and another 8 gb of 2666 RAM for dual channel and both are working well.  There is a second PCIE x4 2280 slot for another NVME "stick" hard drive for those interested in RAIDing two fast drives.  I'm really liking this build for an entry level desktop replacement gaming laptop. I don't mind the max of 1080p or 60 hz as I do most of my gaming that way already.  I just wish it had a displayport output so I could try the Occulus Rift S VR on it to see how it does compared to on a desktop gaming machine.

Is a good picture of the back removed showing the 2nd ram slot, 2nd PCIE 2280 length, and the SATA SSD/HDD slot already populated.
