Hi everyone. I have a Acer Predator Predator GX-792 labtop, since january 2018. I use it mainly for 3D Work and programming games, software: (Maya, Unity, ZBrush etc..,) For a whole year It worked like a charm, even with Virtual Reality development with Oculus Rift and sometimes gaming, of course. But in february of this year, it started to freeze randomly and the only way to go back in function is to turn off the lab and power on again. A waste of time.

It was send to clean it up and revision in march, but so far "nothing" wrong was found. The freezes almost vanished completely, but days ago, it seems to appear more frequently. I also notice, there is a "pattern" in it, if I´m using Chrome with many tabs, checking a video on the net or using a 3D software (like Unity, an engine game), the lab may freezes, one or two times a week. The temperature usually don´t go beyond 50 C according to Predator Sense.

My Predator has 16 of RAM memory, has a Nvidia GEForce GTX 1080, icore 7, 250 GB of solid disc and 1 Tera of hard disc. The NVidia drivers is up to date, Windows 10 also.

Checking for hours on Google I see this is a common problem with Acer Gaming Labs of all models, but there is not an "only one" solution, in fact no solution at all. When my lab freezes, if there is sound this will go as a normal, but can´t move the cursor, the screen keeps on, not black screen.

Can anyone tell me what to do or how to fix it?

If there is some if have to check, and if so, how to do it? I´ts annoying this situation, no way to work normal.

Thanks :D

It might need some fan cleaning and also suspect some latest windows updates might had messed something up try to optimize windows again or optimize it if you haven't done it before :) apart from that i dont have any experience in that field so maybe someone here hopefully could give you a hand sorting it

Thanks xapim! I´m not sure how to optimize windows in my lab but we have "San Google", so I have to get deeper in that. I´m also considering to get a external fan with an USB cable, even this labtob already has an internal fan.

Thanks again, I´ll see how this work and report in advance. :+1:
