I only recently decided I could really use a pen for marking up stuff on my Switch 12 S, so I don't know anything about what the best pen to get is from Acer or 3rd-parties.   Is there a consensus best pen for the Switch 12 S?

For starters, according to an Acer website, there are two Acer pens that are compatible with the Switch 12 S -- the NP.STY1A.005 and the NP.STY1A.006.   It looks like the latter was developed for the Switch Alpha 12, so it is possible that it may not actually be a step up from the NP.STY1A.005, if the changes were all just to make it work better with the Alpha 12.

In particular, I am curious if any of these pens will stick to the magnetic snap hinge, since that would be the logical way to keep the pen with the computer.   Will either of the Acer pens stick to magnets?

Yes, they're magnetic and are held adequately by a fairly strong magnet. But I'm generally underwhelmed by pen performance. Jack E/NJ

Thanks.   For a Switch 12 S, is it better to get the NP.STY1A.005 or the NP.STY1A.006?

I believe they are functionally identical and just sourced from two vendors by Acer.

Well... they LOOK different, although I suppose their innards and functionality could be identical.

Whichever one visually appeals to you more. Your preference. Your decision. Your machine. Jack E/NJ
