Predator Helios 300 overheating while charging(PH315-51)

Hello guys. I recently bought a new laptop Predator Helios 300 PH315-51 ( the version with i7 8750 and 1060 6 gb ) and I notice that the temperature of my laptop exceeds 80 degrees while it is charging and I'm playing. I try to test it with multiple games and even thought some of them had higher requierments and others lower, the result it's the same. It also has from time to time FPS drops. If I play on battery without it to be charging it works perfectly and the temperature is aroung 60-65 degrees max. So what should I do? I saw that undervolting may be an option but I'm not sure what to say about this.

I have the exact same model, the i7-8750h is a powerful chip that uses alot of energy thus creating high thermals. The helios 300s cooling system isn't exactly the best design for such high thermal output, that being said, this chip NEEDS to be undervolted to perform the way it should. First i would recommend a cooling pad, undervolt via throttlestop and cap your cpu hz. All these combined lead to pretty good thermals, i myself play most games on high/ultra at 60fps and never go over 85DegC. A community member, Hotel Hero, went through and set up a throttle stop folder specifcally for our chip. Its the current throttle stop settings i am using as well. Here is a link to the folder.

If you already have intel xtu or throttle stop installed un-install them and SHUT DOWN your computer then re boot and download this folder, extract, run and watch your high thermals disappear. You will not need to make any changes to the program you just have to simply download the folder and run it.

On AC power your laptop is utilizing full power across both CPU and GPU. As you're seeing this is a bit much for the factory cooling solution. After some extended load, the system will throttle to keep temperatures from reaching unsafe levels. This is considered normal and how the manufacturer intends the system to run. On battery, the system automatically scales back some power in order to preserve battery life and never gets to the point of throttling. These compromises are inherent to laptop design, combining both performance and portability.

The solution as you've already reached is to improve the cooling system. The largest variable in the cooling system being the thermal paste, you can remove and reapply a paste of your choosing in about 30 minutes with basic hand tools. The difference between two pastes can be anywhere from 5-30C or possibly even more.
